Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

1. What kind of qualifications do I need in order to work in the care sector?

A. You do not need any formal qualifications as such, however, by 2005 you must be willing to work towards an NVQ level 2 in Promoting Independence, or a Learning Disability Award unit (LDAF).

2. What kind of personality IS SUITED TO THE JOB?

A. You must have good interpersonal skills, patient and be able to work with clients that maybe vulnerable, challenging and also very rewarding.

3. Can I start work straight after my interview?

A: You will be contacted by one of our consultants if you are successful from the interview. If successful, we will then take up two references and check that you have had an enhanced Criminal Record Bureau (CRB) check.

4. Do I have to give references from my current employment?

A We would prefer that the references come form your existing employer. Character references will not be accepted.

5. Can I choose what days I would like to work and what area?

A: As an agency worker you will be free to choose what days you want to work. In terms of location you will be asked what area you would like to work, as there are a number of placements available throughout London & Berkshire.

6. What training will be given?

A: We have a comprehensive training programme, specific to the needs of where you maybe placed. You can access this training at a discounted rate as an agency worker.

7. What rate will I be paid?

A: This will depend on your experience, qualifications and what shift you might be working (day/ night waking night).

8. Can I take up a permanent position if working as an agency worker for Bright Recruitment?

A: If you are offered a permanent or contracted position by an organisation whilst working as an agency worker, then this will be negotiated on your behalf by Bright Recruitment Social Care Agency in line with the terms and conditions of your agency worker contract.

9. Is there any loyalty or referral bonus for agency workers?

A: This is something that we are considering if an agency worker has been known to us for over six months (subject to terms and conditions) and has referred other agency workers that will stay with the organisation and actively working during the first six months.

10. Can I work with a variety of different clients?

A: We will match you to appropriate services where you have skills and experience. However, where this is not the case, we will inform the organisation to say that you wish to gain experience in this particular area, it will then be the organisation’s discretion as to whether they choose to let you do the shift.
